GUYSSS!! IM IN NYC.
This means that I’m eating different things than normal and I have a random burst to share such things with random people. I will be starting this series of ‘Savannah Eats’. I’m not sure if it’ll be just for while I’m in New York or if I will continue it. I mean, considering that I’m not at school right now means I have a little extra time. So perhaps a mini series, ‘Savannah Eats: NYC’ or something like that. I also only have my phone on me, no laptop, so we’ll see how this turns out. I will be writing very informally but then possibly, maybe, revising when I get home (that is if I don’t loose interest or get too busy haha).
Without further ado, I present:
Savannah Eats – Empanada Mama
Empanadas eaten:
Shredded Beef
Mac and cheese
El toro
Bbq pulled pork
Jerk and cheese
Viagra (it was just the name!! I did NOT make up the names LOLL)
Also tried:
Rice and beans
Pork belly
Chips and spicy guac (chips were plantain chips!! An unexpected surprise that I loved <33)
Cherry lemonade
Plantains

Ate right after we got to our hotel. Went with uncle chad and aunty kittty. Walk was nice, pleasant from the hotel.
Didn’t really like the empanada flavors
(Were sweeter than anticipated)
The outer part of the actual empanadas were good, also had good to meat(inside) ratio.
Out of all empanadas, I think shredded beef and bbq were my favorite, personally u think the Mac and cheese could have done without the bacon pieces, the jerk and cheese and el toro we’re way more sweet than I anticipated so I think it kind of just through me off. I didn’t get to eat much of the viagra one but Brit really liked it. It was good but don’t really have notes on the empanada.
Plantains WERE AMAZING
Cut thick and we’re perfect flavor and softness. 10/10
Chips and spicy guac were good. 8/10. Good chips, they have everything plantain nailed. Guac could have been a little more salted and definitely more spicy!! But otherwise flavors were top tier.
Just tried a pice of pork belly but was cooked well, flavors brought out. Crispiness and the fat did well to balance each other
Cherry lemonade was delicious, was kinda like a sour candy, was sweet without being overly so.
OVERALL SCORE: 6.5/10
Score is scaled as 1 is bad, 5 is average, and 10 is like the absolute best!
